OPP seize $24K in drugs, weapons, ammunition and cash from Milton home

Three people have been charged as part of a drug trafficking investigation in Wellington County.

Ontario Provincial Police said a search warrant was carried out at a Milton home at 4:45 a.m. Tuesday. It resulted in the seizure of suspected methamphetamine, suspected cocaine, various weapons and ammunition, as well as Canadian cash and other drug trafficking-related items.

The estimated value of the haul was more than $24,000.

OPP said a 24-year-old from Etobicoke was charged with possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking, unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm, unauthorized possession of a prohibited device or ammunition, careless storage of a firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, and failure to comply with a release order.

A 25-year-old from Milton was also charged with possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking, unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm, unauthorized possession of a prohibited device or ammunition, careless storage of a firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition, and possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.

The third person charged was a 25-year-old from Milton. OPP said he was charged with cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking, unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm, unauthorized possession of a prohibited device or ammunition, and careless storage of a firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition.

The drug bust was a collaboration between Wellington County OPP’s Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), CSCU teams from Norfolk and Haldimand Counties, the West Region OPP’s Canine Unit, the West Region Tactics and Response Unit, the West Region Emergency Response Unit, the Wellington OPP Major Crime Unit and the Wellington OPP Community Response Unit.
