Police from across Ontario have charged 63 people in a large-scale investigation into child sexual abuse and exploitation material. On Wednesday, the Ontario Provincial Police released the results of the operation known as Project Time. They said in addition to 213 charges laid, 51 victims were identified and 814 electronic devices were seized. Two of the accused were considered to be in positions of trust and authority within their communities while eight people were repeat offenders. The investigation involved police services from across the province, including the Brantford Police Service, Guelph Police Service, Ontario Provincial Police and Waterloo Regional Police Service. Local arrests include: A 34-year-old from Brantford A 40-year-old from Brantford A 66-year-old from Brantford A 36-year-old from Cambridge A 22-year-old from Guelph A 25-year-old from Kitchener A 50-year-old from Kitchener A 44-year-old from Waterloo Charges including the phrase “child sexual abuse and exploitation material” formerly used the term “child pornography.”
