Waterloo Region is going green – with Lime Canada. The company’s e-scooters have started showing up on streets and sidewalks around Kitchener-Waterloo. When Lime acquired Neuron Canada earlier this year, representatives reached out to the region offering to take over their rival’s contract. Officials said in July they were working on an agreement that was “consistent” with the previous one. CTV News reached out to Lime for comment but they did respond by the deadline. According to Neuron, riders traveled 236,000 kilometres locally in 2025 and almost one million kilometres since e-scooters were first introduced to Waterloo Region. Neuron’s e-fleet was bright orange, while Lime’s are a distinctive green.
