Four attempted thefts of Hyundai Elantras in Waterloo

Waterloo Regional Police have issued a warning for car owners in Waterloo’s Mount Hope neighbourhood.

They said thieves have tried, on at least four separate occasions, to steal Hyundai Elantras from residential parking lots in the Northfield Drive and Bridge Street West area.

“[The] vehicles had their windows smashed and steering columns, and/or ignitions, tampered with,” police explained in a media release.

All of the attempts happened between Jan. 18 and Jan. 22.
