Ontario Provincial Police say a 41-year-old man from Ottawa died following a boating incident on the St. Lawrence River on Saturday. According to police, a 15-foot aluminum boat with multiple occupants had overturned just north of Grenadier Island shortly after 10 p.m. Grenadier Island is located on the St. Lawrence River, approximately 30 kilometres southwest of Brockville. OPP say one of the occupants was unaccounted for following the incident. The Leeds 1000 Islands Fire Service located the man, who was unresponsive, and an ambulance transported him to the hospital. The man was later pronounced dead. The incident is under investigation and police ask anyone with relevant information to contact them at 1-888-310-1122.
