Driver, going 190 km/h on Highway 401, pulled off the road

A Toronto man was charged after he was caught breaking multiple traffic rules on Highway 401.

Ontario Provincial Police said a member of their Highway Enforcement Team spotted the vehicle travelling 190 km/h through a construction zone, with a posted speed limit of 80 km/h, near Cambridge.

When the vehicle was pulled over, the officer determined the driver was also impaired by drugs.

They also found a very large knife wedged between the driver’s seat and door.

OPP said the 38-year-old was charged with impaired driving, dangerous driving, resisting arrest, possessing a dangerous weapon, stunt driving and having cannabis readily available in the vehicle.
