Man charged in stabbing death of brother on John d’Or Prairie

A man has been charged for allegedly stabbing and killing his brother in John d’Or Prairie.

Mounties said officers were called to the nursing station for a stabbing victim on Wednesday at 3 a.m. The man, identified as 33-year-old Keifer St. Arnault, died.

In a Thursday update, RCMP said Kiefer had gotten into an argument with his brother Cody St. Arnault, 28, who allegedly stabbed him after the argument escalated.

Cody was arrested and charged with manslaughter. He was remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear at the Alberta Court of Justice in Fort Vermilion on June 10.

An autopsy for Keifer is scheduled at the Chief Medical Examiner’s office in Edmonton on Friday.

John d’Or Prairie is part of the Little Red River Cree Nation and is located 125 kilometres east of High Level.
