Winspear Centre to host Chris Hadfield storytelling in April

Canadian astronaut Chris Hadfield is coming to Edmonton to share stories from his career.

Hadfield will take the stage at the Winspear Centre on April 4.

Formerly a tactical fighter pilot with the Canadian Armed Forces, Hadfield was the first Canadian to walk in space and the first astronaut to operate the Canadarm. In 2013, he became the first Canadian to command the International Space Station.

Over his career, he has flown more than 70 different types of aircraft missions and test flights, earning a place in Canada’s Aviation Hall of Fame.

His other recognitions include the Order of Canada, the Meritorious Service Cross, and the NASA Exceptional Service Medal.

At the Winspear, Hadfield will speak about achieving goals, including the importance of long-term vision, navigating obstacles, and maintaining focus and optimism.
