WestJet suspends direct flight from Edmonton to Atlanta this summer as demand for U.S. travel drops

WestJet won't offer direct flights from Edmonton to Atlanta this summer and is reducing flights to other U.S. destinations.

WestJet is no longer offering direct flights from Edmonton to Atlanta this summer and it is reducing routes to other American destinations.

The direct flight to Atlanta will continue until June before it is paused for the summer.

A direct flight from Edmonton to Chicago now won’t start until late June.

WestJet has also reduced several flights from Edmonton to San Francisco, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Minneapolis, St. Paul, Nashville and Salt Lake City.

The airline has said fewer people are booking trips to the U.S., choosing transatlantic destinations, as well as trips to Mexico and the Caribbean.
