This Edmonton man thought he’d won $100K. It was actually $1M

An Edmonton man went from happy to very happy after his lottery win was much bigger than he initially realized.

“I scanned (the ticket) in the store,” Bao Tran said. “I was very happy and I told my friend it was $100,000. When I showed him, he looked closely and said, ‘No, this is $1 million.’

“I was happy with the $100,000. Now, I feel very happy.”

Tran is excited to tell his wife.

“I just got married in Vietnam and I’m going to surprise my wife by purchasing a house and a new car for her,” he said.

He bought the Lotto 6/49 ticket from the Hughes at 12405 97 St.
