Telus World of Science Edmonton (TWOSE) will be closed temporarily as students go back to school. In a Thursday Instagram post, the science centre wrote it will shut its doors for annual maintenance from Sept. 2 to 4. • Download our app to get Edmonton alerts on your device Brett Nestman, the manager of marketing and community relations for TWOSE, told CTV News Edmonton how staff members tackle the closure. “We see about 500,000 guests each year and all of our exhibits are very hands-on and engaging … A little bit of wear and tear that comes (along) with that so we take this time each year to clean up the place,” Nestman said on Thursday. “Everyone grabs mops and brooms and we get together and clean and shine everything up,” he added. Nestman described the annual closure as a unique “team-building” experience. The next exhibition arriving at the science centre starting Oct. 11 is Jurassic World by Brickman, which re-imagines the blockbuster film with nearly 6 million Lego bricks. TWOSE will reopen Sept. 5 at 9 a.m.
