Sweet Treats and Latte Festival returning to Old Strathcona

The Sweet Treats and Lattes Festival is underway in Old Strathcona again.

A festival of treats, drinks and local businesses is returning to the Old Strathcona area.

The Sweet Treats and Latte Festival kicks off Thursday and runs through the weekend with more than 40 participating businesses.

“We are excited to bring back the festival for its sixth year,” said Andrea Donini, the interim executive director of the Old Strathcona Business Association, in a press release Wednesday afternoon.

Some of the feature items from the area’s cafes, bakeries, restaurants and pubs include ice cream, cookies, lattes, and bubble tea.

Of the 41 businesses participating, 18 are new to the festival and seven of those recently opened this past year.

The association is also encouraging Edmontonians to collect stamps on a “Sweet Treats” card for a chance to win prizes from Old Strathcona businesses.

“This budget-friendly food festival is about celebrating Old Strathcona’s sweet side, and we can’t wait for folks to explore the district, support local, and enjoy a sweet treat on a winter day,” Donini added.

Cards will be available at Sweet Treats locations starting Feb. 12.
