An Edmonton man has been charged with child luring and sexual interference in nearby Morinville. Morinville RCMP said Monday in a media release they have charged 34-year-old Jaswindra Nath with two counts of sexual interference, one count of child luring, arranging a sexual offence with a child, and obtaining sexual services for considerations from a person under 18. Police said they received a complaint in November that a man had been “conducting sexual acts” with a 15-year-old, saying they took place between Sept. 1 and Nov. 14. They said their investigation found the man used the social-media platform Snapchat to lure the victim, picked them up from school and took them to his apartment several times. Nath was brought before a judge and released on conditions. He is due to next appear in court on Thursday. RCMP say they believe there may be other victims. They said Nath has used the handles ‘yegnut’ and ‘yegnutn’ on Snapchat and used the name ‘Jash.’ The town of Morinville is about 25 kilometres north of Edmonton. Morinville RCMP ask anyone who may be a victim or with information to contact them at 780-939-4520 or to contact Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-TIPS or via the PS Tips app online.
