Stolen peacocks found, but not truck: Mounties

A peacock and a peahen that were in the back of a truck stolen in Stony Plain have been found and returned to their owners, but the truck is still missing.

The peacock and peahen that were stolen in Stony Plain over the weekend are back home.

Pete and Hilda, as the birds are named, were reported stolen on Sunday and found abandoned later that day, Mounties said in an update Wednesday.

Members of the public found the birds in their crate along Highway 16 near the Duffield exit, about 30 kilometres west of Stony Plain.

Police are still looking for the white 2005 Ford F-350 with B.C. licence plate SY7996 that was stolen at the same time.
