Speed believed to be factor in fatal motorcycle crash: Edmonton police

The Edmonton Police Service says speed was a factor in a fatal motorcycle crash in Mill Woods over the weekend.

A motorcyclist is dead after a single-vehicle crash early Sunday morning.

Emergency crews were called to Mill Woods Road and 49A Street at 1:40 a.m.

The 19-year-old man driving the bike was taken to hospital where he died of his injuries.

Police say he lost control of the 2004 Suzuki GSX-R1000 before hitting a curb and a tree.

Speed is believed to be a factor in the crash.
