Soccer brawl in north Edmonton caught on camera

A fight at a north Edmonton soccer field on Aug. 12, 2025 was caught on camera. The Edmonton and District Soccer Association says it is reviewing the incident.

The Edmonton and District Soccer Association (EDSA) says it is reviewing an altercation between two Division 2 men’s teams during a game in north Edmonton on Tuesday.

The incident, which happened at the Queen Elizabeth School field, was captured on camera by bystanders.

“The EDSA was made aware of the incident yesterday morning and we are in the midst of a comprehensive review of the altercation. Our organization is deeply concerned over the actions of two teams within our program. There is no place in our sporting community for such behavior,” EDSA CEO and executive Mike Thome wrote in an email to CTV News Edmonton on Thursday.

“Tuesday night’s incident is in no way a reflection of the 7,500 players who play with passion, sportsmanship and enjoyment in our program.”

The Edmonton Police Service says it is not investigating the incident.
