A company has been fined following an employee’s 2023 fall from scaffolding into hot water. The worker was seriously injured at the site in Redwater, Alta., on Aug. 10, 2023. Brock Canada Field Services Ltd. and Nutrien (Canada) Holdings ULC. were charged with several offences, but all were withdrawn when Brock pleaded guilty to failing to ensure the health and safety of a worker under the Occupational Health and Safety Act in Fort Saskatchewan on July 30. Brock was fined $132,000. Both the company and Crown have 30 days to appeal the conviction and penalty.
