The Hardisty Fitness and Leisure Centre is closed for repairs after staff discovered a “small fire” in the sauna on Tuesday. Edmonton Fire Rescue Services (EFRS) arrived at the centre after 2 p.m. Around 30 people were evacuated from the building, the city told CTV News Edmonton. EFRS discovered the cause of the fire to be mechanical or a malfunction related to the pool deck sauna, the city said. The centre is closed for repairs and cleaning until further notice.
