Police seek 2 men suspected of robbing 3 liquor stores

Edmonton police are searching for two men they say are responsible for a trio of liquor store robberies in different parts of the city over the last month.

In a media release Thursday, the Edmonton Police Service said the men robbed liquor stores near Mayfield Road on Jan. 25 and Jan. 31, and one at 23 Avenue and 24 Street on Feb. 5.

The Jan. 25 robbery at 9:11 p.m. that Sunday saw the pair trying to leave the store without paying for several products. When confronted by a store employee, one of the men displayed what was thought to be a gun and threatened the employee before they fled.

The Saturday, Jan. 31, west-end robbery took place at 8:23 p.m., while the Thursday, Feb. 5, incident in the southeast occurred at 9:41 p.m.

Surveillance cameras gathered footage of both men responsible for the robberies. Police described them as 20-30 years old and between five-foot-nine and six-feet tall. One has a stocky build, the other a thin build.
