Man charged after allegedly printing child porn at grocery store

The Alberta Law Enforcement Response Teams (ALERT) said a 33-year-old Edmonton man has been charged after allegedly printing child pornography at a local grocery store.

In a news release, the Northern Alberta Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) team with the assistance of Edmonton police and RCMP arrested Bradley Jeffrey Lenz Wednesday.

Lenz has been charged with possession of child pornography and accessing child pornography.

The Alberta Law Enforcement Response Teams (ALERT) began their investigation after an employee at a north side grocery store, who was servicing one of the in-store photo kiosks, discovered explicit material in May.

“It was shocking and pretty disturbing for the people involved,” Acting Detective Brian Cross said.

“The employees in the store were just paying very close attention as to what was going on in their store.”

According to investigators, the printer in the kiosk ran out of paper while the explicit material was being printed and before the order was complete, once the machine was refilled, employees found the rest of the order, and called police.

Investigators said they used surveillance video to identify the man.

A search of Lenz's residence yielded additional child pornography images, DVDs, video tapes and electronic devices.

It’s not clear where the child pornography came from, police said they’re looking into whether the material was found online, or if it was produced locally.

This is not the first time Lenz has been in trouble with police for sexual crimes – in 2007 he was accused of setting up hidden cameras inside a women’s washroom at NAIT, those charges were dropped.
