Two people have been charged after a man was attacked with an axe in an Alberta trailer park.

On Thursday, Edson RCMP got a call about a man bleeding from the head.

The 37-year-old victim was taken to hospital in Edmonton with injuries to his head and his hand.

Police say the man was hit with an axe at the Sunset Trailer Park by two people who left the scene and were staying at a local hotel.

Officers went to the hotel and arrested a man and a woman.

A 40-year-old man and a 35-year-old woman, both from Edson, were charged with aggravated assault, assault with a weapon, and assault causing bodily harm.

Mounties say both suspects knew the victim, and the incident was related to a previous event between the trio.

Police do not believe there is any danger to the public.

Both suspects will appear in court on Tuesday.
