Four charged following drug raids on seven Edmonton homes

ALERT and RCMP in Strathcona County said a joint effort on drug raids at a number of homes in Edmonton had resulted in four suspected drug dealers in custody, and a variety of drugs and weapons seized.

Investigators with ALERT, with Edmonton Police Service Members, RCMP and Alberta Sheriffs, searched seven Edmonton homes on March 1 – and seized about $170,000 worth of cash and drugs, a handgun and a thousand rounds of ammunition.

At first, no arrests were made at the time the search warrants were executed.

On March 29, four suspects surrendered themselves to police – the four suspects: Mark Agar, 38, Sean McDermott, 38, Harrold Denny, 36, and Jonathon Pederson, 34, are facing a total of 32 drugs and firearms related charges.

The investigation was initially launched in January after investigators received a tip that a group was involved in drug trafficking in the Edmonton area.
