Former Alberta principal found not guilty on sexual assault charge

A former school principal who had been charged with sexual assault has been acquitted.

Amit Mali was found not guilty in an Edmonton courtroom on Friday.

Mali was charged with sexual assault after a report by a woman in May 2024.

He had also been charged with sexual assault in February 2024 after a report from a different woman.

The Crown withdrew that charge in July 2024, saying there was no reasonable likelihood of conviction.
