The Edmonton Public School Board teamed up with ETS on Monday to help kids prepare for taking the bus as the summer comes to a close. First Riders is for pre-Kindergarten children and Kindergarten students, Grade 7 students transitioning to ETS, and any student new to riding the bus or in need of a refresher before class is back in session. Instructor and driver Robert Greek was working with kids and their parents on danger zones and getting and off the bus. “That’s the name of the game: Keep them safe,” Greek told CTV News Edmonton. “Responsibility is huge.” The free sessions were held at the Expo Centre south parking lot from 1 p.m. and go as late as 7 p.m. Monday. First Riders has been teaching kids how to confidently and safely take the bus since 2005. With files from CTV News Edmonton’s Dave Mitchell
