Fire destroys house under construction in south-central neighbourhood

Edmonton Fire Rescue Services says crews responded to a fire just before 1 a.m. Tuesday morning. The fire destroyed a house under construction.

A house in south central Edmonton was destroyed in a fire early Tuesday morning.

The blaze near 90 Avenue and 98 Street was reported around 12:45 a.m., according to Edmonton Fire Rescue Services (EFRS), which sent eight units to the scene.

It was considered under control by 2:30 a.m., but not yet out as of 5:50 a.m.

No injuries were reported.

Officials confirmed the house was under construction; the property was lined by fence.

Edmonton Police Service will be involved in the investigation.

EFRS could not say what caused the fire.
