Fans held breaths, and bladders, during Canada-U.S. gold medal game, Epcor data shows

Water consumption data from Epcor shows drastic spikes from bathroom usage during the men's Olympic gold medal hockey game on Sunday.

Nearly nine million Canadians woke up early Sunday morning to catch the Canada-U.S. Olympics gold medal game. But according to Epcor, Edmontonians were not only holding their breaths… but their bladders as well.

Epcor released data on its water consumption that day. The red line on the chart represents how much water was used during the game, while the green line represents the average daily water use.

The data shows the drastic spikes at the end of each period as fans held out from using the bathroom during game play.

Edmontonians clearly also didn’t stick around for the medal ceremony after Canada’s 2-1 defeat against our United States rivals in OT.
