Edmonton woman faces fentanyl trafficking charges

A woman faces drug trafficking charges after RCMP seized fentanyl, meth, cocaine and psilocybin at an Edmonton residence on Aug. 14, 2025. (Supplied)

RCMP say they have charged an Edmonton woman after investigating suspected fentanyl trafficking in the Wetaskiwin area.

According to a news release, Wetaskiwin RCMP executed a search warrant on Aug. 14 at a property in Edmonton with the assistance of the Edmonton police tactical unit.

A search of the residence resulted in the seizure of 68 grams of suspected fentanyl, three grams of suspected meth, 1.5 grams of suspected cocaine and nine grams of suspected psilocybin, as well as scales, baggies and cash.

A 40-year-old woman now faces two counts of trafficking fentanyl, three counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, and one count of possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000.

The Edmonton woman has a previous conviction for trafficking drugs. She was released for a future court date.
