After a soggy weekend, there’s more precipitation in the forecast for almost every day this week. Only Thursday looks to be a full-on rain day, but today, tomorrow and Wednesday all have a chance of showers and/or thunderstorms. There was a wide range in rainfall totals around the Edmonton region over the past three days. Officially, 20-40mm, but I’ve seen some backyard rain gauges reporting significantly more in neighbourhoods that got hit harder by thunderstorms. (That’s always the case with summer showers and thunderstorms: it’s never evenly spread over an entire region as large as the Edmonton area). Sunshine this morning with a few clouds this afternoon and a slight chance of a scattered shower this afternoon. The best chance for showers/thunderstorms comes tonight (especially overnight). The same goes for Tuesday: We’ll be partly cloudy for most of the day and then some late-day precip might push through. Both today and tomorrow should be fairly scattered shower cells so we’ll have a wide range in rain totals around the region again. Here’s what we’re looking at for precip timing: Daytime highs will get to the low to mid 20s today and Tuesday. We’ll be around 20 for a high on Wednesday and then a low to mid teen high on Thursday with that chance of steadier rain. Here’s the forecast for Edmonton and area: Today - Sunny with some afternoon clouds. Slight risk of a shower or thunderstorm late afternoon. High: 24 Tonight - Mostly cloudy with a 60% chance of a shower or thunderstorm overnight. 9pm: 20 Tuesday - Partly cloudy. 30% chance of a late-afternoon or evening shower/thunderstorm. Morning Low: 13 Afternoon High: 24 Wednesday - 40% chance of showers in the morning, sunny breaks in the afternoon. 40% chance of late-day showers.
