Edmonton-area pilot involved in plane crash in Spokane dies in hospital

Officials have confirmed a Canadian pilot from Stony Plain has died, days after the plane he was flying crashed in Spokane.

On Sunday, moments after Stony Plain businessman Michael Clements took off from an airfield in Spokane, Washington, his airplane crashed.

Despite bystanders and crews moving quickly to pull Clements from the wreckage, he passed away in hospital Tuesday.

Clements kept his plane at the Villeneuve Airport near Edmonton.

CTV affiliate KXLY 4 News in Spokane has reported officials are looking into whether Clements put the wrong type of fuel in his plane before taking off.
