Two women have been charged with assault with a weapon in connection with a drive-by shooting with a pellet gun in Fairview. RCMP said the victim was in a vehicle near Highway 2 at about 6:50 p.m. on Sept. 8. when they were shot in the head with a pellet gun by one of two women in another vehicle. The victim sustained minor injuries. Mounties said the three people involved were “known to each other” and had been involved in a “dispute” before the shooting. RCMP found the vehicle the accused used at a home the next day and executed a search warrant that led to the arrest of a 28-year-old resident of Worsley, Alta., and a 25-year-old resident of Hines Creek, Alta. Both were charged with assault with a weapon. They were released on conditions and will appear at the Alberta Court of Justice in Fairview on Sept. 23 and Oct. 14.
