City’s first-ever Stuff-a-Bus school campaign to help prepare Edmonton students

The city has partnered with two organizations to collect the essentials Edmonton students need to succeed in the upcoming school year.

Staples and United Way have joined Edmonton for its first-ever Stuff-a-Bus for Schools campaign, a spinoff of the city’s Stuff-a-Bus food donation campaign that’s run during the holidays for the past 30 years.

Until Aug. 22, Edmontonians can drop off school supplies in donation boxes located at any city-run centre.

On Aug. 23 between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., donations can be brought to buses parked outside all eight Staples locations in the city.

Cash, credit and debit donations will be accepted on-site on Aug. 23.

Most-needed items include:

• backpacks;
• pencils, pens, erasers;
• binders, dividers, paper;
• notebooks, duo-tangs;
• crayons, pencil crayons;
• highlighters, markers; and
• scissors, glue sticks, rulers.
