A Spruce Grove man says he plans to buy a new car after winning $1 million on a Lotto Max ticket. Michael Swityk says he was checking a stack of tickets in his kitchen when he discovered the one at the bottom of the pile was a winner. “I saw the zeroes pop up,” he said in a news release. “I told my wife we had just won a million dollars, and she didn’t believe me until I showed her the phone.” “It’s just going to give us less stress and more options for retirement,” he smiled. “We will be more comfortable.” Swityk bought his winning ticket from Hardy’s Your Independent Grocer at 16 Superior Street in Devon. He won by matching one of the Maxillions selections on the Dec. 23 Lotto Max draw with the numbers 1, 29, 37, 39, 43, 45, and 50.
