A man from southeast Alberta has been charged after police received a report of the sexual assault of a 14-year-old girl. The assault was reported to the Killam/Forestburg RCMP on Sept. 3. After an investigation, a search warrant was executed on Nov. 21 and a man was arrested. Police say their investigation found the man pretended to be a 17-year-old boy on social media to lure the victim to his home. Roger Zotzman, 39, of Forestburg has been charged with sexual assault while choking, sexual interference, invitation to sexual touching, and luring a child. “We want to thank those who came forth to report this incident as well as the victim for being brave enough to speak with us,” said Cpl. Andrea Bole of the Killam/Forestburg RCMP said in a news release. “We also want to take the time to remind everyone that not all is as it seems on the internet and to make sure you are being safe when interacting with people you do not know.” Zotzman was released on conditions and will appear in court in Killam on Feb. 3, 2026.
