AI image of unidentified woman found dead in 2024 released by EPS

The Edmonton Police Service has released an AI image of a woman found dead in a dumpster last December.

The Edmonton Police Service (EPS) has released an AI-generated photo of a woman who was found dead in central Edmonton almost a year ago as officers have not yet been able to identify her.

Her body was found on Dec. 29, 2024, in a waste disposal bin around Bellamy Hill Road. Surveillance footage shows her walking alone up the alley from 99 Avenue between 103 Street and Bellamy Hill around 9:30 a.m. the day before.

She was seen getting into the bin herself, EPS said, and her death is not considered suspicious.

Officers describe her as a 25 to 35-year-old Indigenous female with shoulder-length brown and red hair, brown eyes and a slim build. She was around 5’6”.

Police say they haven’t been able to identify her using “traditional methods.” In March 2025, sketches of the woman and her tattoo as well as stock images of her jacket and boots were released.

Now EPS is releasing an AI-generated image it says is an approximate likeness of the woman.
