2 dead in reported shooting in southeast Edmonton

Two men are dead after police got a call about gunshots near 32 Street and 26 Avenue on Friday morning.

The homicide unit is investigating the deaths of two men in southeast Edmonton on Friday.

Police responded to a call about gunshots in the area of 32 Street and 26 Avenue at 1:43 a.m.

When they arrived, two men believed to be in their 20s were found suffering from gunshot wounds.

Despite the efforts of emergency workers, both men were pronounced dead at the scene.

Police believe the killings were a targeted event.

Investigators are looking for a dark-coloured SUV that may have been in the area at the time of the shooting.

Anyone in the area of Silverberry Road and 23 Avenue, as well as 34 Street and 29 Street, who has dash camera or security footage from approximately 2 p.m. on Thursday to 2:30 a.m. on Friday is asked to contact police immediately at 780-423-4567 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

Autopsies have been scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday.
