2 charged in Edmonton vape store robberies, fire

Two men who Edmonton police believe were involved in a string of vape store robberies in the city over the last two months have been arrested and charged.

Between Sept. 8 and Oct. 4 this year, officers responded to four reports of robberies at vape stores across the city and one arson, according to a news release from EPS on Wednesday.

Two of the robberies, the release said, involved two masked men who used firearms to steal cash and vape products on Sept. 8 and Sept. 17.

On Sept. 22, two masked men drove a vehicle through the same store robbed on Sept. 8 and started a fire.

There were two other vape store robberies reported at separate locations on Oct. 1 and Oct. 4.

While there were no injuries, police said around $400,000 worth of damage was caused on Sept. 22 and they estimate more than $10,000 worth of cash and vape products combined were stolen.

Two 30-year-old men were arrested on Oct. 6 and now face charges of robbery, wearing a disguise and use of a firearm during the commission of an offence.
