Toronto police are searching for a bag of cremated remains after they were stolen from a west-end home on Monday.

Police said the remains, belonging to the victim's mother, were stolen from a home located in the area of Richland Crescent and Clumber Road, just south of Toronto Pearson International Airport.

Police have not provided the exact address of the home, but say it was broken into sometime between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m.

Several other items were stolen from the home, including a blue, drawstring bag containing a sealed cardboard box of ashes.

The bag was embroidered with the logo for the St. John's Dixie Cemetery and Crematorium.

Anyone with more information is asked to contact police at 416-808-2200, or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 416-222-8477 (TIPS).
