Man killed in head-on crash with semi northwest of Edmonton

A man is dead after a head-on crash near Westlock, Alta., on Tuesday that involved a semi and an SUV.

Emergency crews were called to Highway 44, just north of Highway 651, at 11:10 a.m.

Mounties say the 36-year-old man driving the SUV was ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene.

The 53-year-old man driving the semi was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
