Zoolights is adding new adventures as it transforms the grounds at the Wilder Institute-Calgary Zoo into a winter wonderland for the holiday season. “For nearly three decades, Zoolights has been a cherished holiday tradition in Calgary, inviting generations to come together and share in the magic of the season,” said Alison Archambault, director of brand and public relations at the Wilder Institute/Calgary Zoo. “It’s more than a celebration of light; it’s a reflection of our community’s warmth and our shared commitment to protecting wildlife for the future.” The dazzling display begins Nov. 14 and ends Jan. 4, 2026, weather permitting. The lights are turned on from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. This year, there are visits with Santa and carousel rides interspersed with seven new experiences that include the North Pole with a hot chocolate bar, a sugar plum station featuring candy scene creations and a festive forest with roaming elves. The Wilder Institute-Calgary Zoo has also added ticket options. These include a chance to visit the zoo in the afternoon and the evening and an option to see Zoolights from the Calgary Tower before heading to the Wilder Institute/Calgary Zoo to experience the lights at ground level.
