Here’s a look at what’s open and what’s closed in Calgary over the Labour Day long weekend: Calgary Transit Calgary Transit will be operating on a Sunday level of service on Labour Day (Monday, Sept. 1). The Red Line will be closed between Heritage and Victoria Park/Stampede stations from Friday, Aug. 29 at 8 p.m. until 2 p.m. on Labour Day. The Blue Line will be closed between Rundle and Franklin stations starting Friday at 8 p.m., until 2 p.m. on Labour Day. Fall service changes also come into effect on Labour Day. Pride Parade closures The 2025 Calgary Pride Parade will run west down Ninth Avenue S.E. from Studio Bell to Fifth Street S.W. starting at 11 a.m. on Sunday. Several road closures will be in place to facilitate the celebrations, including: Parking in Calgary parking authority spots No payment is required for on-street parking in ParkPlus zones on Labour Day, and weekend rates will be in effect at all Calgary Parking Authority parkades and surface lots. Regular rates will be in effect at the Calgary Zoo, Telus Spark, Heritage Park and Stampede Park. The City of Calgary’s impound lot will be closed on Labour Day. Arenas and pools City of Calgary arenas, pools and fitness centres will be closed on Labour Day. Calgary Soccer Centre The Calgary Soccer Centre will be closed on Labour Day. Leisure centres Both the Village Square Leisure Centre and Southland Leisure Centre will be open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Labour Day. City of Calgary art centres The Wildflower Arts Centre and North Mount Pleasant Arts Centre will be closed on Labour Day. Landfills All three Calgary landfills will be open on Labour Day. The East Calgary Landfill will be open from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m., while the Spyhill and Shepard Landfill will be open from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
