Vehicle strikes rail bridge in Lethbridge

Lethbridge police advised the public to stay clear of an incident on Mayor Magrath Drive South, where a vehicle struck a rail bridge on March 10, 2026.

Lethbridge police are investigating after a vehicle hit a rail bridge.

Shortly after noon on Tuesday, officers were called to the railroad bridge at Mayor Magrath Drive South and Highway 3.

It appears the load was too high for a tow truck that was hauling another truck used to cut trees.

A chunk of concrete in the bridge was missing.

Northbound traffic was shut down for about an hour and a half.

There are no reports of any injuries.
