Union members vote in favour of strike action at Sobeys Rocky View distribution centre in Balzac

Southern and central Albertans could be facing shortages at grocery stores if a labour dispute isn’t settled.

Union members at the Sobeys Rocky View distribution centre in Balzac have voted overwhelmingly in favour of strike action.

A 72-hour strike notice could be issued as soon as Monday.

If workers walk out, it could disrupt delivery of goods to major grocery stores, convenience stores and independent grocers.
