The Transportation Safety Board says it hasn’t been able to send a team of investigators to the site of a deadly plane crash in Alberta’s Rocky Mountains due to difficult terrain. Two people were killed in a plane crash in the Mount McDougall area of Kananaskis Country. The Cirrus SR22 aircraft took off from Springbank, Alta., just after 8:50 a.m. on Saturday, bound for Campbell River, B.C. The plane crashed around 9:15 a.m., RCMP have said. In an update to CTV News Calgary, the TSB said it hasn’t been able to access the site of the crash due to the terrain. “We are, however, co-ordinating in the recovery efforts, and we will be examining the wreckage once it has been retrieved from the mountain side,” said spokesperson Hugo Fontaine. The statement from the TSB came after Search and Rescue Alberta said on Monday the site of the crash posed danger to the recovery effort.
