Third man charged in south Lethbridge apartment death

Police say a third person has been charged in connection with the death of a man at a south Lethbridge apartment complex last week.

Emergency crews were called to the building in the 200 block of 7A Avenue South at 6:30 a.m. on Friday for reports of an assault.

They arrived to find a 27-year-old man unresponsive inside one of the units.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police arrested two suspects the following day.

On Tuesday, police announced Nicholas Rodney Scout, 42, of Lethbridge, had been charged with first-degree murder after the search of two residences along Mount Crandell Crescent.

Police had previously charged Darcy Andrew Medicine Crane, 43, and Jordan Frank North Peigan, 27, both of Lethbridge, with one count each of first-degree murder.

Police say evidence indicates the incident was targeted, and that all those involved knew each other.
