Thursday was a perfect evening for the start of Taste of Calgary. Foodies satisfied their taste buds at Lot 6, which is on 8th Street S.W. at 4th and 3rd avenues. Dozens of local restaurants, breweries and food trucks are set up. Admission is free—you buy tickets to sample delicious items on the menus. “This is food through culture, culture through food, and so they come here to try different things, come with their families and friends and explore different cultures through food, try different drinks and beer and listen to entertainment and really just enjoy a day out,” said Jennifer Rempel, Taste of Calgary executive director. “I really like the diversity. There’s a lot of foods from everywhere—pretty much every part of the world. “We’re just waiting to have a little bit of time to go and taste ourselves and see what the festival has to offer.” Taste of Calgary runs through the long weekend.
