An Alliston man is behind bars and facing nine criminal charges after a child exploitation investigation uncovered alleged child sexual abuse material and online communications involving a child. Police say officers with the OPP Child Sexual Exploitation Unit executed a search warrant at his home last Thursday, with help from the Nottawasaga OPP and the Digital Forensics Unit. During the search, several electronic devices were taken. The 58-year-old was arrested and charged with two counts of making child sexual abuse and exploitation material and three counts of possessing child sexual abuse and exploitation material. He also faces two counts of agreeing to commit a sexual offence against a child and two counts of making available child sexual abuse and exploitation material. The accused remains in custody pending a bail hearing and is scheduled to appear before the court in Barrie at a later date. The allegations against him have not been tested in court.
