A Strathmore woman says she plans to take care of some bills and save a lot for retirement thanks to a recent lottery win. Chelsea Yule won $818,494.50 by stopping to buy a Lightning Lotto ticket after picking up her daughter from work. She was stunned when her daughter exclaimed about the big number that came up on the screen. “I thought it was the winning numbers or a barcode—I didn’t realize at first it was the amount I’d won!” she said in a news release. “The whole thing was a blur—people kept congratulating us as they came into the store.” Yule said she also plans to pay for some updates to their house. “I’m just still in shock—it feels like we’ll be okay for retirement now!” Yule purchased her winning ticket from Shoppers Drug Mart at 117 100 Ranch Market in Strathmore. She won her prize instantly by matching all five numbers in the selection for the Oct. 7 draw: 2, 11, 14, 19, and 22.
