Southern Alberta woman celebrates $100K lottery win: ‘It’s awesome’

A southern Alberta woman says her $100,000 lottery win will help her fly her family to her nephew’s wedding.

Tamara Konschuh, a Crossfield resident, purchased her Western Max and Extra ticket s from a Mobil gas station in Olds and won by matching the last six digits on the Jan. 6 draw.

“It’s awesome,” she said in a Thursday news release. “I’ve dreamt about winning for a long time.”

Konschuh checked realized she won when she checked her ticket on the Lotto Spot app.

“I sent a screenshot to my husband,” she said. “I was so excited.”

Konschuh says aside from flying her whole family to a wedding, she will save the rest of the cash.
