Here are Alberta’s wettest communities after the ‘June monsoon’

A slow-moving weather system is beginning to make its way east, but it soaked dozens of Alberta communities first.

Environment and Climate Change Canada’s (ECCC) historical data from June 1 says Pincher Creek was the wettest community in Alberta.

The village, located west of Lethbridge and east of Crowsnest Pass, recorded 62.3 millimetres of rain on June 1.

On May 31, ECCC said the weather station recorded 27.5 millimetres of precipitation.

The second-wettest spot in Alberta was recorded at the weather station west of Pekisko (62.1 millimetres), followed by Beaver Mines’ 57.1-millimetre deluge.
