The data will be used to inform where to build new animal crossings along the highway.

Research shows animal collisions are most common in the stretch between Lundbreck and the Crowsnest Pass.

Numerous sites along the highway have been selected as potential sites for crossings or retro fits.

Researchers are continuing to meet with engineers to decide which locations are feasible.

Up to 16 crossings will be constructed along the highway over the next five to 10 years.
